The idea of doing all the things @Ridgeline mentioned is perfect, it's just real hard to do sometimes. I checked into doing this on the last truck I bought, wanted cummins to give the run through. They said it would be upwards or $2500. The dyno run alone was a grand.
I'm not saying it's not a good idea, it's the best idea and insurance you could have but you have to be willing to lose that money. What if it fails and you walk away without the truck? You dodged a bullet for sure and saved way more down the road but now you have to spend the same amount on the next truck. It can add up quickly so make very sure the truck is what you want and appears to be in good working order.

Just stop buying or leasing trucks.
They are all junk. -
Why do you think companies are trading them at 300k.
Im thinking cre at 25cpm is better than buying a truck. -
08-09 was a bad year for all makes/models of trucks....
This isn't a Detroit but watch it any ways..
Minia Thanks this. -
A $1000 for a dyno?
I never paid more than $400 for a dyno, wow I should buy a portable dyno and haul it around doing trucks.
The entire purpose of doing all that stuff is to mitigate risks, you can't eliminate all the risks, but the most risk you can get off the list, the better you are going to be in the long run.Dwardell662 Thanks this. -
