My APU is 2 years old. 3 months ago it broke. Alternator wire connection broke. Needed a new ring connector cost at NAPA about $.25. Of course repair was covered under my extended warranty Besides oil changes, and swapping out fresh air filter in it, I've spent zero on my APU in repairs...

can i ask how you know exactly how much fuel your two engines idle an hour?

But hey, ill concede window units cut into the back of sleepers are just dead sexy.

 

I wanted to know what it did use so I filled it up at the truck stop pulled into a spot kicked the idle up and let it run for 24 hours than refueled and took the gallons divided by the hours just like figuring out you mpg

 

and I saw one done the other day on a monster of a truck the guy had wrapped the ac unit in stainless and punch holed the vent holes. Looked great with his custom paint tall stacks and full stainless fenders

 

ooida and dynasys have a deal where ya get guaranteed financing on their apus, I got mine with no money down and will make the last lease payment in December and I own it outright after 2 years , it was 8500 installed with the shorepower kits t. here are grants also I bypassed that didn't have time to wait on that. since jan 2012 I have 2500 hours on it.

I easily save the payment plus more, my overall mpg went up one mile a gallon after install.

if a guy stays out 5 days a week and doesn't sweat or freeze he will idle more thn 40 hours a week.

as another poster said its all about the maintenance, I do my own apu service around 20.00 bucks in filters and 2 and 1/2 quarts of oil , delo 400 like I use in the truck , 12.47 a gallon at wal,mart
