BUYING MY OWN TRUCK!! I NEED ADVICE! Please help me. Im a woman with 20 years exp

As usual, I really didn't expect you to get a sensible answer. I'm from the area and just got through selling a truck to a guy who is hauling frac sand out of Angelo for the same rate you are being quoted. He has two trucks doing the frac haul. The thing he said you have to watch for is some of the lease roads are 5 mph roads and will beat a truck to death. In other words, some places you might get two loads a day and some days just one. He said his hauls were never over 70 mi. I think the biggest problems you will have is front ends, tires and more frequent oil changes. Hope that helps.

 

Hi shaff, you're entirely welcome. Keep us posted on the progress, lot of experience here. In the past, you'd just go and start a new job ( I had 2 in a week once) only to find out it sucks, I'd have killed for a site like this years ago. Go with the older truck for now. Good luck.
