Will run truck till 400,000 to 450,000 then sell and buy new again is the plan. Is it worth it to add the Chassis warranty for most you guys? I went ahead and did it and it will pay for itself if anything goes wrong. Or could be a waste of money but just a cost of doing business in my mind. What are your thoughts?

By the way it is a 2022 Volvo 860 with 500 HP D13.

I just ordered a new western star with max warranty 6 year 600k on a DD16
Will keep truck to roughly a million miles with the towing included to 600k. Better to have and not need it than to need it snd not have it

Well worth it on a new Truck. That’s the only way to go these days. Transferable warranty, good selling point also.

That was one of the reasons I wanted to get it as well. I am gonna sell my 2014 670 and It will have warranty on rebuild about 50,000 left I think.

I extend the factory Cummins warranty to 500k but have not extended the OEM warranty before. However, some annoying things that go bad are manufacturer so id say your come out even worst case. You did the right thing. Good job.

I had enough bad experience with my first truck used. So thought after all that crazy first start it would be wise to just budget it this way and have no major surprises. I’ll pay for it up front but won’t have to worry about it later on.

Smart man. It took me years and years to be able to buy new trucks. I thought I was being smart and responsible. #### if now that I have new trucks, I make more money. I don’t regret it but certainly not going back.

I found if I buy new trucks and I drive one and my brother drives the other. Don’t idle them for long periods. Stay very proactive on maintenance the new trucks will run just as reliably as the old ones. My truck my brother anc his wife run team on is over 900k now on a DD15 and still uses no oil and samples are good. Get regular oil changes at 30k. 10k grease jobs anc extensive maintenance done all the time
Life time so far is .12cpm on maintenance
Doing it mostly ourselves. Truck has been down 2 times for nox sensors. 1 dpf cleaning, Doser and all sensors on the trucks get pulled every 6 months for cleaning.

Not all the time. Before you sign on the contract for the warranty, read it carefully, especially if it has an arbitration clause in it.

It is factory, not aftermarket warranty from some other place. Doesn't cover everything but pretty much the same as bumper to bumper.
