Does anyone shop for parts online? Without knowing any parts numbers, I would like to just buy things like brakes, slack adjusters, little things like that.
I have a 07 freightliner columbia. It seems like you have to know parts numbers and such with a lot of places. I just wanna put in my truck info and be able to find parts ..

Hi nik, I don't know. Everything is online nowadays, but I've always went into a parts place to compare the new part with the old. Most places are open until midnight, that way you save a hassle sending it back. Just remember the serial# of your truck.

Tons of parts are available online and you can save lots of money if you can afford to wait. Gates has a vin lookup for belts, hoses, tensioners, idlers. You can use their number and cross to advance, napa, amazon, eBay, almost anything. Red dot also has all your heat/ac parts that can cross to local auto parts dealers. There is more out there just do your research. If you get part numbers off parts it will help you find what you need. I get walker part numbers off summit racing then cross on advance auto for deep discounts on exhaust parts. Advance almost always has a $40 off $100 coupon with free shipping. It's an online only. Yes they will carry lots of truck parts but you cannot walk into their store and have them look them up. The coupon won't work for oil and batteries but pretty much anything else. Caterpillar numbers you can usually find on eBay for a fraction of what cat wants. I buy online for a simple reason, I have old trucks, most parts houses don't carry everyday items, and I can buy online and never waste time or gas hunting parts.

Call a F-liner dealer to get the cross over part number. That's the parts guy's job. You can get onto F-liner PartsPro but it only gives F-liner number not the cross over.
ryderfleetparts has competitive prices and fast shipping.
Do like I do and keep a record of all the part numbers. I had my truck for 19 years so I know what it needs just by checking my part number file.Studebaker Hawk Thanks this. -
I have more part numbers in my phone than phone numbers. every time I get a new part I put part # in my phone. if for example I blow a air bag on the road, I want to be able to call someone with a part # & get it right the first time. this is of course good for any part, belts, filters, sensors, e.t.c. saves money and time. I have ordered a muffler of ryder fleet products. best price, quick shipping, competitive prices.
Deecutta Thanks this.
