I didn't know where else to post this. I'm hoping the shoulder won't be as bad as I think it is and the surgeon can clear the injury this week. My question is, upon completion of CDL school and then assuming you get a job for a trucking company and they keep you on, would it be a good idea to purchase my own truck in the future? Do companies look more favorably at drivers that have their own equipment because it would be less risk of damage on their own truck or does it not matter?
By the way, I suck at driving manual transmission. Tried it on my dad's car and failed miserably. I'm guessing that a truck's transmission is different right? Do they teach you shifting at school?

I get better loads with tmc as an O/O then i did as a Company driver. That being said, it could just be the new FM. As an O/O you can reject any load which can be helpful. -
Get some experience first as a company driver. Probably won't find a company to hire you as a new 0/0 with no driving experience.
