I was over 500 on my drives and full on fuel so like 12200 on steers at 79960 so just to be safe i took exit 130 on I-40 To jump on 66 for a few miles to bypass the el reno scale house. Soon as i got to the top of the exit ramp boom a state trooper.
He gave me the funniest look. Like he know what i was doing thankfully he didn't come after me! Hahaha

Unless there is a white sign with black letters stating clearly trucks are prohibited from using that route you violated no laws that I know of. Years ago back in Georgia truckers would bypass the Georgia scales near Lavonia by using Ga 59. To the best of my knowledge, there was no law that said it was prohibited! That was by design, because for years just about every time I drove through there in my POV I saw a trucker pulled over by DOT!

he wasnt giving you a funny look. you saw a state trooper just hanging out that had nothing to do with dot stops. nor could he care less about scales. This is a common misconception. but sounds cool

What color was it? In Oklahoma the DOT vehicles are white and OHP's are black.

Really? I’m no outlaw but I’ll admit I’ll run 500lbs over on any set of axles and not sweat it.
Not saying it’s right or wrong but after pulling into scales (actually having to stop and weigh) and knowing I was over by 1000lbs and never getting cited I didn’t figure I had to sweat 500 or so lol

but boy one day I might be very wrong
