Bad back can't get under truck right now .
Could it be just a gasket or somthing more.

The big orange o rings on the front and rear of the oil cooler are notorious for cold leaks with age. They will usually stop leaking once the engine is warm. New o rings and gaskets should do the trick.

if you have it apart ... might as well replace the cooler. Go with aftermarket. The cat cooler is held together by epoxy and made in china. It degrades over time. Aftermarket it still made in china, but is soldered .... and used to be a quarter of the cost. I would use a cat o ring kit though.

Are you saying current production cat ones are epoxyed because I really don’t think the original cat ones were?

Just checked the prices, .... insanity, last time I bought a cooler 2 years ago it was 359.87 for a mcbee on account with peterbilt (aftermarket they are all the same pai, mcbee, etc ... same chinese mfg rebranded) and 31.74 for the cat seal kit. Twice the price in 2 years, the times we live in are truly grand.

OP ... maybe keep the old one and just re seal it
