I have a 2006 Columbia with C15 Acert. Last night when I shut down, I noticed the idle oil pressure was unusually high (55psi). I did not think much of it, but today when I started up the oil pressure would not come up at all, it was zero. I checked the oil level and I am full. Only about 10K Miles on the oil. Since the oil level was fine I went ahead and drove the last 3 hours. There is no loss of performance or noises to make me think its a mechanical problem. Also there is no warning lights or engine protect shutdown occurring with the zero pressure at idle.
I suspect that it may be the gauge that is faulty, is there something else that I might consider before getting soaked by a shop?

just to add to the above. Oil pressure never comes up above 25 psi under a load.

i would say the guage is bad but i wouldnt run it until you find out for sure. a guage is alot cheaper to replace than an engine!

if is columbia. Oil pressure gauge is the electrinic immitation of gauge, really dashboard use J1939 data, so really oil pressure sensor is on engine. your engine ECM has protection program and if pressure is really low engine stalls.
so I sugest internal dashboard issues related with corrosion ore dust it gauge stepper motor. Unfortunaly it is soldered in dashbourd and you cant swap it easily like with century class -
I've had the same issue on 3 or 4 of my C-13 Acerts. The issue on my trucks was the oil pressure sensor on the engine. These engines are in Peterbilt 386s but it sounds like the same issue. It was not throwing any codes on the dash. It usually happens when it's below 20 degrees outside.

Sorry for the double post, must have hit the button twice. -
BTW. What oil do you use? mineral ore syntetic?
