c-15 acert

    have a 2006 kw with a acert c-15 st4 valve on top of compressor keeps venting when turbos are boosting, have changed everything in air system and still does it, anyone else had this problem?

    cant say as I heard of it only doing it when turbos boosting before. you say changed everything in the air system, did you change the unloader valve in the top of the compressor?

    It would either be the unloader valve acting up (ACERTs are known for coking up the unloader valves) or the reed valve down in the air box. The air box is mounted down on the driverside of the block, right in front of the secondary filter housing.

    I'v seen the unloader do that many times. O-rings go bad and leak air past so it wont move the valve to unload the compressor

    I'm having the same prob just changed out uloaders and it still doing it. Ive been chasing it for a while now and everyone thought I was crazy when I would tell them I was loseing boost. Dose your purge valve keep going off mine leaks out of the safty valve on the dryer and it's really loud on a pull I lose about 5psi of boost. I've tried a new dryer, gov, unloaders, safety valve. Hope this helps please keep us undated

    changed everything you have changed also, our trucks are blowing out of the st4 valve on compressor only, did change the high side turbo on one truck, and it seems to do it alot less now, had checked the waste gate and it wasnt working, but cat doesnt sell just the waste gate, 2nd truck waste gate doesnt open till its at 45 inch pounds of vac but waste gate is stamped with 25 cant see spending the money on another turbo just to replace one with a bad waste gate

    just changed out air compressor and now only will blow air out of st4 valve when pulling loaded 9axle up a grade runs perfect with empty trailer
