So if your thinking of working for this company be warned all trucks are being governed at 62mph for pedal and 60mph for cruise control.
This is for company trucks and also lease trucks.
RPMs are now governed at 1650 max.
The company thinks this will save money on fuel.
Just be warned if your thinking of working for england you will be driving a goverened truck that does not pull.

    skullitor Thanks this.

Welcome to the Forum. Most already know that tidbit but im sure there are some that didnt. Its a shame too when i worked there my truck was governed at 75mph and the company trucks at 65. You can find some more england bashing posts on here for your amusement.

I'm VERY new so I'll just throw this out there - Wouldn't a truck governed (Rpm wise) that low pose a safety problem? I'm really suprised NHTSA isn't all over this!

yes and no 62 mph is more for fuel economy but the extra few mph hour could be helpfull when passing slower traffic but could be abussed by more drivers in a lighter sense its a no win situation or could even be a win win theres nothin wrong with 62mph but there cant be any tight loads

The FMCSA would more than likely look into it if it was a problem. Its not its just an annoyance. The only problem would be in bad slick weather if you are running on your max rpm you lose the ability to accelerate if needed which is y on a governed truck you dont run max rpms in bad weather. NHTSA is under the US D.O.T. but is more for auto, Small truck, and motorbike safety and wrecks and The FMCSA is for big trucks and busses.

Not sure what one he was talking about but they won the OOIDA unfortunately. The good thing that came outta that was the revisions they had to make to the lease program. LOL but its still heavily one sided as most Fleeces are.
