Hey again Alpha..
Oh the agony brother.. I'm still waiting to hear back from a really good local job... But.. After spending so many weeks with a trainer that I just could NOT stand, it looks like I will have to endure yet more torment to drive for England. I was O.K.'d by safety and went ahead and booked in to Indiana for orientation next week. Glad England isnt running in to Canada, cause I aint goin lol. I used to run up ther despite a DWI in 84, but I think that's changed since 9/11. I've had my truck stripped, searched and everything else, and it's just more hassle than it's worth. PLUS, my wife and I had gone to the Casino up there in Niagra Falls when I received a counterfeit bill from one of the exchange places. Canadian Secret Service nabbed me at the blackjack table (though very politely) and after questioning me, let me go without penalty. Now - when I go up there, I get seem to be stopped for a "currency check".. I haven't lost anything in Canada, and if I had, it's not worth going back for. Anyhoo.. I don't know if you can specify wanting a certain "trainee" for 2nd seat or for C.A.T. program, but ya sound like someone I could actually get along with. I'm one of those pariah smokers, but if the right non-smoker came along that wasn't a freak about smelling it on clothes, I could smoke outside the truck. Don't know if any of that is possible, but if so, P.M. me and I'll give you some other personal stuff. I CAN tell you that I don't trash trainys and can give a smooth ride - I can also run 3500 mi. per wk. standing on my head. I DO need to get through this area (Seneca Falls, NY. exit 41 off I-90 - Petro would do) between the 1st and 5th of the mo. to pick up a couple meds, but other than that I'm one flexible guy. Can definitely appreciate the more esoteric thinker and also a fellow Wolf (huge totem for me.. tatood on left arm.. did a Wolf Medicine workshop a couple years with One White Horse Standing over in Chagrin Falls..)
One other note to the guys and girls who continually bash England as Mormons.. Im kind of anti-religious but consider this.. I know several Mormons and though may disagree with them, they are some of the few that will reach out to a complete stranger. Just an example.. if you are moving and in a bind, just call the Mormons and they will show up with a truck.. OR.. if you're a driver that NO ONE elese will EVEN CONSIDER, they will give you a chance, Sure they want to talk a little, but they are NOTHING compared to some the freaks I've experienced throughout the charismatic and Pentecostal movements. Just food for thought. Happy trails, and we'll see ya on the black top one way or the other.

No not at all. England still has company drivers in the 5#### trucks. You dont HAVE to lease with them. Anything with a 9##### is a lease driver. -
Talk to company drivers that haul England freight.
Not the ones on dedicated accounts, the OTR drivers.
At 26cpm how many miles do they get? I talked to several.
The average was 2000 to 2400 miles per week.
That's between $500 to $600 per week. Sounds good til you deduct expenses. School, food, and other needs. Now that $500/$600 is only about $350/$450. I am going with the figure that it takes about $100 per week to buy food, toiletries, etc. And $55 for the school loan.
Then you have taxes. Now you get to send $300 to $400 home to mama per week.
And the lease? Please. Show me a man that makes money an the England lease! -
I make money and lease quite a bit including extras like having someone do my taxes for me, legal services, fuel tax dealt with. I dont have a thing to worry about except the truck breaking down. Which in 6 months hasnt happened yet. So I guess I am one of the few who can do this? I drive about 500-600 miles a day. I get home when I want and still despite the deductions I make better money than I did working in an office on their time schedule. Now I work my own. It makes me happy but to each their own.

Since February 12, I have logged over 70K miles (72,956 to be exact).
I wouldn't settle for any less.
I DON'T drive for any of the major companies, but a small specialized carrier out of Michigan. -
I won't argue that. I was referring to England company drivers. -
'The CAT Program' was that entry cdl training or the famed lease'
Please return' on this thanks cruzer -
CAT is required driving where you, a newbie with 3 weeks training team with a lease operator. You get 11 cpm for 3 weeks.
This actually COSTS the lease op 10 cpm for all miles. England kicks in a penney per mile. -
Wow, a whole cent per mile...!!
Now my wife and can finally afford the mortgage.
