One could deduce why they're getting slandered by reading the 45 PAGES of just this thread alone.
I remember CRE used to advertise every day of the world (except Christmas, a day there was no paper) in the Salt Lake Tribune begging for drivers. They may still do. I haven't checked the SLT in a while.
It's no surprise to me they get slandered here, and it's no surprise this thread alone is now 45 pages....and counting.
Some who post here are just inviting readers to their pity parties. But every one who posts negative about CRE is nothing but a whiner? I'd guess maybe 25% are whiners and the rest are straight shooters. This is based on my own personal knowledge of those who've left CRE in the past.
I'll be going to work for CRE in the first few days after doomsday. Which day that will be depends if I can perform all the duties I have to perform at other companies I'm scheduled to drive for in the hours and days after the world explodes.

And, to repeat what's often said here, one or two complaints can be easily overlooked. But one or two hundred cannot, not when the complaints outnumber the compliments for a dog of a company like C.R. England by about 50 to 1.

Dude, I've learned more hear in a few months than most drivers learn in a year, AFTER they've signed the contract in blood. The funny thing is, Drivers at truck stops and cafe's all over the country have told me the same things I read in this forum. Last but not least, I think it takes a little common sense to see past the whinners and cry babies to see the real deal. Sure some numb nuts will gripe about anything and never had a chance, because they didn't try. But when you have as many complaints about CRE and some others, by people who have been there, look past the fog and read between the lines. There is a problem!!!!! With that kind of turn over, any company would suck. This is not a forum for haters, but for those who need to share information and prepare. -
Newbie called it.
Nothing we post here is written in stone, as probability plays too great a part in whether or not someone does well at a company or not.
Some may go to a company and do fine and dandy there, and I myself may do great. But from what I've read here, going to CRE is too risky. I'd not go to that company until after the end of the world. I'm just thinking like a trucking company would. -
CR England is one of our broker's firms, in that they are the only company that delivers to Cali for us. I don't know if it's the high T/O rate or what (never see the same driver twice), but for this past year all of our Cali loads have been drop and swap where in years past they were always live loaded. It may also be a scaling back on their part. Don't know for sure. The only real problem I've ever had with them, however, was the trainees. I know it wasn't entirely their fault, but man, they could not follow directions to save their collective lives. We actually had a trainer leave a guy with cab fare and cash for a Greyhound home.
I will say this, however; 95% of the time the trailers were very clean (important when dealing with food-grade cartons) and if not, the driver had no problem making it right. -
Sounds like the trainer knew how that company treats its drivers. He knew what was coming for the trainee. If I would have been that trainee, I would gotten in my car and driven off, never to be seen again. Hmmm. My trainer is giving me money for a cab and a bus. This tells me:
1. The trainer knows what's up with the company, mainly the probability of my disliking the outfit and needing that money is pretty great.
2. The trainer is giving me the money because he knows I won't be able to afford the cab and bus fares later. Wow. Pay at CRE must be fabulous.
I wonder if the trainee went to work for CRE anyway or walked away? -
I wonder if Lease Operators under the new contract at CRE are making better money? It looked like major improvements were made in drivers benifits.

I have nothing bad to say about CREngland, I have never worked there. My father in law does not either. He however has worked for them for the past 15+ years. He is on approximately his 4th or 5th lease truck. Does fantastic for himself although he is never home, he likes it that way. During his tenure he has had 2 or 3 late loads (in 15+years, dont forget) NO accidents, NO tickets, nothing but consistently safe, on time load deliveries. A little over a week ago he was in an accident that has more or less ended his driving career. He was not at fault, it was a hit and run. The accident itself was fairly minor(as far as truck accidents go anyway). He was sideswiped by another truck and jackknifed. Broke his arm, got stitches on his forehead. He was stressing out severely and unknown to me if it was the accident or the stress from it, he has had a stroke. He's been told he isnt driving a truck ever again by the doctors. So far, the only info and progress that I have gotten from my mother in law, is CREngland has told them if they want his medical bills paid, they need to sue the company who's driver hit him and ran. Only the truck will be covered. Right now my father in law is scared to his core and worried that if CREngland finds out he has had a stroke (AFTER the accident that he did NOT cause, IN the hospital) that they will blame the accident on him. We'll see how this plays out and I'll post updates. Also if anyone knows an attorney with some experience with England and things like this, please PM me.
P.S. I was kinda thinking.... With all the love he has for that company, and with all the time spent there. Doesnt it make you wonder why he would be afraid of something like that? think he's seen it happen to others? I dunnooooooo -
CR England is a bunch of crooks. They have already been in court over the lease program. I drove for them for 5 months and only made about 200 a week after they screwed me with all the deductions. RUN from england. they are big dogs in salt lake city. and no one will go against them. so the continue to run hundreds of students throught their shools on a weekly basis. They are making money on all of them. THIS COMPANY NEEDS TO BE RAN OUT OF BUSINESS SCREW THE ENGLANDS TO HELL WITH THE CROOKS AND THEIR SCAM THEY HAVE GOING!!!!!

I think that you probaly work for england with a post like that. The fact is that the training program is a sham too. I ran as a trainer and the student took home more in his check then i did. And that as very little to. THe Cat program sucks and so does England dont go near them.
