Don't haul potato chips over the mountains! just kidding. Good luck to you though, and remember to be patient, its a little tough at first but make it past the first three months (school+trainer time) and it will be worth it. Never complain to your dispatcher thats what the cb and this forum are for.

The problem we have with england is that as soon as we climb out of our financial hole and start to get ahead, something goes wrong. The truck breaks down or the dm becomes a huge jerk and doesn't send any good loads. We quickly empty our savings and then fall back into the hole. I am not sure if this is the way all companies work or if it is just bad luck on our part. My Dad says they do it on purpose (the crappy miles off and on) but it seems to me these dm's are getting paid by the loads as well so it only makes sense to keep all the fleet running good miles/loads. Anyway, all companies have their pitfalls and I do not believe that one is anymore honest than the next. Unless you find a small local company that gives a #### about employee morale and family values then it doesn't matter what company you choose because they are all the same. So yes england can suck big time, but it won't be any better anywhere else!!:biggrin_25512:

For jarhead, your training in burns harbor but beware the elevator smells of urine according to my husband and well the rooms looked cleaned but were not. My husband plus 3 other guys there at the time (all in different rooms mind you) got scabbies(sorry about spelling) from there. The guy that trained said it happened with 4 guys from the last training batch and then we had to fight with england to pay for the medical bills (but I am pretty sure they finally did since we haven't seen a bill for 3 months now). Anyway, just insist on seeing them put fresh sheets on your bed and DO NOT use the comforter. (and take the stairs lol) Just my advice from my hubbys point of view anyway. Good luck though :biggrin_255:

My husband has been with them since Oct. 07. He does lease and the truck payment per week is around 460 and insurance is around 190 per week. As long as you lease England makes your school payments for you (only useful is you can't pay for it up front which we couldn't). The crappy part about it is this thing called Variable Mileage Payment. Not sure exactly what it is for but it is 14 cents per mile which is ALOT. They make it sound like the truck payment is so great but the VMP will suck away your money lol. However the VMP can be lowered the longer you are with England through the Safety program. We just lowered by 1 cent and can lower to as little as 6 cents but it will take about a year to do that. Once it is down to 6 cents it won't be too bad. Sorry for going on and on I just know they stress how low the truck payments are without too much emphasis on that VMP. Hope this is helpful.
