I think there was 32 months left on the lease so it had been driven before but it only had around 30000 miles on it when he leased it and it was an 2008. They have changed the lease program a bit since he leased but I think it works better for driver now.

The problem we have with england is that as soon as we climb out of our financial hole and start to get ahead, something goes wrong. The truck breaks down or the dm becomes a huge jerk and doesn't send any good loads. We quickly empty our savings and then fall back into the hole. I am not sure if this is the way all companies work or if it is just bad luck on our part. My Dad says they do it on purpose (the crappy miles off and on) but it seems to me these dm's are getting paid by the loads as well so it only makes sense to keep all the fleet running good miles/loads. Anyway, all companies have their pitfalls and I do not believe that one is anymore honest than the next. Unless you find a small local company that gives a #### about employee morale and family values then it doesn't matter what company you choose because they are all the same. So yes england can suck big time, but it won't be any better anywhere else!!:biggrin_25512:

CRE is a big company their utilization is based on percentages not individual success.

If you are not kept hungry and out on the road, then their business model has not succeeded. You have taken over the risk of bad numbers because they will make sure you make enough to pay the note and the rest is your priority not theirs. whether you make a living or not they still profit off the lease.

I like what you had to say, some will have good experiences, some will have bad experiences, I dislike when a lot of the newbies start getting on more experienced drivers for speaking their mind and assume their wrong! my DAC reports that i worked at england for 2 months, i only worked for them for a week after going otr with the trainer, Before leaving to go to school( I have 11yrs in trucking/10yrs driving straight trucks, worked first 7yrs at pitt-Ohio Express so i know the trucking business, the good/Bad) i parked next to an england driver, asked about the company, he had a nice route, told me the good and the bad..He was making $900 a week dedicated route/ Bad..some lease operators were making $7 a week checks, researched online some good and bad, actually my laptop went out so i coudnt read all the bad, even though i in my researched i knew the hotel in hammond,in had a problem with drugs/lice which some classmates did have a problem with, thank God i wasnt 1 of them! My trainer picked me up under a load made me drive at night till morning, Policy states new drivers wont be driving between 1am-4am, typically when most trucking accidents happen we were told! i think! (my opinion) trainees shouldnt be driving at night 1st 2 weeks, your full of anxiety good/bad! I had bloodshot eyes for 1st 3 days, told trainer i was having problems seeing at night, probably of the bloodshot eyes, he switched for 1 day, he did 800 miles illegally, while i did 600miles legally, do the math 1400 miles at .50 cents a mile $1400 dollars that day..must be nice! Than he began to make me fudge my logbook so i could drive longer, I dont play the logbook game, learned my lesson the 1st year of driving(1998) when i was a non cdl driver/dockworker, was not shown how to do a log, when safety caught up to me, i had to do like 25 logs before i could go home. Anyway 2600 miles., 11 states later, we went from hammond,in to kent,wa to carlisle,pa where i got of the truck. Its more to tell but i decided not to go back, their training book says if you(trainee)gets off truck and dont follow procedures your dac will say abandonment while under load,However i called from truck stop, left message, these idiots didnt call me till after 3 days of not hearing from them i emailed, the email said he would call me in a few days, we arranged a day for me to go back but, i knew when i went and after i spoke with drivers, classmates, instructors who said they would never run for them(only 2 instructors actually drove for them..1 road trainer, the other guy teaches orientation which is mostly selling the lease-op. to you! I unlike most of my classmates was use to making $800-1,000 a week driving straight trucks so i figured if it didnt work out thats what i would do! Quite honestly everyone should do their research and know if you go it could be good/bad just make sure you are 1st informed and 2nd have a back up plan. I actually came home and as im getting older, backs a lil sore, dont feel like doing a lot of inside deliveries, fingerprinting freight, I've found i want to go back out and get my experience in, i've been accepted to another otr company, 1 good thing for me, England usually leaves people with a bad dac, mine was good..rehire with an interview, work record satisfactory! E-Every N-New G-Guy L-Last A-About N-Ninety D-Days Instructor on the range told us that one, What does that tell you!

your math is a little off.
    1400 miles x .50 = $750.00 not 1400

Your math is off as well.

    1400 miles x .50 =$700.00 not $ 750/00 :biggrin_25525:

I started off posting in here when I was super irked at England and things were NOT going well for us. I am not about to sit here and say I was wrong and now it is a great company. It sucks, but it is getting better. HOWEVER that could change at any time. My hubby has actually had good income the last 4 weeks, which is not normal. I am sure anytime now they will give him a crap load that leaves him sitting for a week and no miles. This is what sucks, the not knowing. We can't plan anything because no matter how much money we save it can be quickly wiped out with a few bad weeks.
I still think all the bigger trucking companies are the same. They all could do better and they all do not give a #### about their drivers. I really would like to know why that is. It has to cost a small fortune to constantly recruit, school, and train these new drivers. I honestly don't understand it. In every company I have ever worked for (I am not a trucker) keeping the employee happy and motivated was the key to their success, not bringing in newbies constantly to screw things up while they are learning how to do something.
Anyway, just rambling now so I will go.
Wish us luck with our streak of positive pay settlements!!!!

Sorry to hear about your situation with C.R. England, Angel.

You asked how C.R.E. can stay in business by going through newBees at the rate they do. I think the answer is C.R. England IS making money by doing what they do to their new drivers. If they weren't making money with their practices, you can bet they'd change in a heartbeat.

It appears C.R. England has come up with a scheme to make a LOT of money at their driver's expense, and they don't care what the results are for others. Their attitude seems to be that there are plenty more where they came from, and it appears they're correct. They prey on the uninformed, and/or those who think C.R.E. will be different for them. And as long as folks keep ignoring the truth, they'll fill the Big truck seats as well as the C.R. England bank accounts.

I wish you, and all the other C.R.E. drivers luck.
Please keep us posted on how things are going for you. There ARE folks here who truly care about what you're going through, and if your husband ever does come to the point where he says enough is enough, I hope we'll be able to assist him in choosing another, better, Big truck truckin' company to apply with.
Whereas your observation that ALL truckin' companies are not always completely fair with their drivers MIGHT be true, believe me when I tell you there isn't another truckin' company that's as bad as C.R. England -- to my knowledge.
In fact, I'm STILL waiting to read a success story from ANYone driving for C.R. England -- except for newBees with stars in their eyes who haven't fully experienced the perils of C.R. England, ............. yet.
IMO, it's shameful what C.R.E. is doing to folks and they need to be stopped. But I fear as long as folks keep filling out employment applications and falling for C.R. England's sales pitch, their practices will continue.

Thanx for sharing your experiences with us. Your comments just might convince someone to avoid C.R. England.
