Well; heck look how many posts there are warning students and most want to argue the fact or say they are a good worker etc. They shrug it off and go anyway. Why bother asking if your mind is made up and you know more than seasoned drivers?:biggrin_2556:

How much experience is necessary for a trainer to sleep behind a trainee while the trainee is driving?
When trainers are required to pay for the trainees they train while sleeping they have to run like a team to make ends meet, (too) often resulting in the top of the Big truck meeting the road.
Through rain, sleet, snow and ice, --- the load must go through.
No matter the cost. Even death.
ShuX Howdy, there's plenty more trainees and trainers where they came from.
Roll that Big truck back on it's wheels and git-'er-dun.
That's what the truckin' company pays y'all to do, after all.
If the wheels ain't turnin' the odometer, the company ain't makin' no money. Just like y'all.
Quit thinkin' 'bout yourself. It ain't about you. It's all about the company's profit margin. Nothin' else counts.

    Excellent advice DC10.
However, with some truckin' companies profits are the driving force.
And safety takes a back seat, .......... or, in this case, the bunk in the back of the Big truck.
When trainers aren't required to be awake while on the job, it becomes a crash lookin' for a place to happen. To the inexperienced trainer's credit, they seem to have a knack for findin' those places.
I wonder if the trainers receive extra credit for that ability?
That is, IF they survive rollin' over in their sleep.
Imagine a sweet dream turnin' into a nightmare.
    What happened?!
    I don't know.
    I was asleep.
    Ask my trainee.
We did ask your trainee who depended on you for guidance.
He/She said they were asleep at the wheel.
Got 'em for a log book violation for not loggin' sleeper berth
    while drivin'.
And you're gettin' a citation for sleepin' on the job.

    OH!
By the way, the company you train newBees for asked me to tell you,
    you're terminated.
It's against company policy to be involved in a crash, even though the company contributed to the incident through their short-sighted negligence. Being the captain of the ship, you should have known better. It's called 'common sense', although that's not required to become a driver trainer, and exercising it will get'cher DAC dinged.
Danged if you do --- dinged if you don't.
But, the company gives you a parting gift ----
A bag for you to hold.
    Filled with grief.
    Have a nice day.
And the same to your trainee, --- if they survive.
If they don't, call their family and explain what happened.
    I'm sure they'll understand.

YeS, you can go back to sleep now.

Keep the shiny side up. :biggrin_25525:

    Let me break this down.

    1. He gave it one week and quit.

Work history is probably the same way.

    2. They were disrespectful to him.

Well be disrespectful back and stand up for yourself and wait until he gets to some of these warehouses.

    3. He was rushed around.

Your going to get that in trucking about everyday.

    4. They wasted his time.

Wait till you have to sit waiting on a load or to unload for two or three days or several hours.

    5. They were very dishonest.

Well a lot of people you deal with on the road can be.

Well it sounds to me like they were just showing him what the real world of trucking was like in less then a week. He needs to grow some nuts if he is going to make it out here and away from mommy. Let's face it I am glad some of these companies weed out the weak.

    Truckin isn't for sissies!

Too funny,,,but oh so true,,,if it's like any other one of these "crash" courses,,,,the first week you learn to memorize the answers to the DMV written test,,once you get your permit, you spend maybe 3 days learning to drive it,then the rest of the time is spent practicing the DMV skills tests,,and like what's posted above,,you learn the rest by doing it.

They closed the Dallas School last year, due to the crap they were putting out apparently. My hubby will only take trainees from SLC, after meeting them and taking them for a drive.
