You'll regret CRE when you see no money coming in... Few people stay and finish they're contract

 

First thing you have to understand is that a Husband and Wife team is the Gold Standard in trucking. You do not have to start off with the pack, you start off at the head of the line. Companies want to hire you because you are considered more stable then a regular team. You already know each other and they do not have to worry about you two driving each other crazy. Plus, you will get the load there even if you have to drive on each others hours. You will be careful as you always have a loved one with you. Hometime will be less of a problem. All these things make you wanted by the industry. Therefore, demand better pay.

After you both have your license you will be split up and have to ride with a trainer for a bit. After that remember when they tell you they are going to start you out at a certain rate, you have the right to ask for more money. If the team rate is 44 cpm ask to start at 10 to 20 percent higher. Husband and wife teams are worth it.

 

I was with CRE for a year. They did not mention leasing to me once. Not a single time.

They still have a lease program, but I don't think they push it anymore.

I think money-wise you are correct, though I got lucky and ended up on a Walmart ded acct with decent pay.

CRE is a good place to get a CDL, do 9-10 months, then move along.

 

I loved their teaching and the school in Fontana. I couldn't stay more than 1 month though. Trainer was ok. Just couldn't survive with a $300 check

 

At 25. Cpm is the choice that difficult?

 

I saw 4 guys jump out of an England truck once at a truck stop. They must have been getting really good miles to warrant 4 drivers.
