I have been at 2 C & S warehouses in the last month, Chester, NY and Hatfield, CT. Both times were no problem with parking available, and a 30 minute unload in Hatfield, which was yesterday morning. I hope this is a sign of changes to come at all of their warehouses.

Not the one in Jersey... although the only redeeming feature, the 0400 free-for-all is now a well managed appointment. Same crappy unloading time, same crappy over-priced scam lumpers.

    However...

And I did get paid $250 detention for SLEEPING! :biggrin_255:

I'm at the one in Hatfield now. Been in the door 2 hrs now and not a thing has happened. Guess you must have caught them on a good day. Wonder how long it will take them to get 207 boxes?

Don't ya just freakin' hate that???

Nash-Finch in Lumberton NC. First, the minimum wage renta cop at the gate feels he has to treat all drivers like felons in prison. Then... it's one stinkin' pallet for these yucks. 7 hours for one stinkin' pallet.

i'm not sure if my job would be classified as LTL, i drive a B truck, bring milk to grocery stores, gas stations/convenient stores. never pick anything up though other then empty milk crates. but if a shipper mess's with us like you guys, or if docks are blocked up i just leave and come back later, if a receiver starts being an a-hole a sales rep from my company will go down and straighten them out. we are treated so good at my company. dont have to put up with people being unprofessional, disrespectful etc. there have been people at this company that have literally told receivers to f off. and no they were not fired lol. gotta love it though, i make sure i take care of my good customers, sometimes our trucks our short product, make sure the good customers get their stuff, every once in a blue moon i have a little something extra ask them if they wanna take it home (maybe a gallon of milk or something).

I've been to the C&S in Windsor Locks CT.once.I was told it would be a good 2-3 hours to get a door with a lumper, but could get a door right now if I unloaded the trailer myself.I had 14 skids of olive oil and had the trailer unloaded in under 20 minutes. Then they wanted me to break open each case of product and label each piece, which I don't get paid for,I called my dispatcher to let him know what was going on and he told me not to do that, and to get a lumper to finish it....6 hours later they were done and I was late for my backhaul pick up .I would have had no problem doing what they asked, but it's our company policy to not do that if it's not listed on the bill for us to do so.Thankfully We don't go there often.

Okay, so here is my rendetion about C & S. It is always a hassle when dealing with those guys, in particular, North East, MD and New Brunswick, NJ.

The C & S in NJ, seems to be very unorganized. You have to wait in long lines, for receivers, lumpers, then when they finally do get to unload your trailer, then you have to go back to these long lines to pay the lumper and get bills. After that, you have to walk around to look for someone to sign the bills so you can actually leave the premise. The parking around this facility is non existing. There are way too many trucks going in and out or trying to back into to doors at the same time. It is always hectic.

North East, MD C&S well, the last time I went there, they rejected a quarter of the freight. They said, the freight shifted, so some of the lower level boxes on the pallets were somewhat crushed. They simply threw the stuff back on the truck, opened up a box and helped themselves to what was inside and then said a case was missing..SOB. I don't deliver to C & S often, however, it is always something when I go to these locations. :biggrin_25513:

I can tell you, from my view. I drove a day cab for them out of Aberdeen for three years.... They don't, or didn't treat the company drivers any better, it's all about the money there, no matter who dies trying to make it.
