I have a 2007 379 with a C13. Will be doing the first oil change on it myself tomorrow. Googling gives me some conflicting info on the oil capacity. Best I can tell is nine gallons. Anyone know if this is right?

Til it's between the hash marks. Looks like about 10 gallons.

    9 to 10 gallons.
Prefill filter before installing, which takes almost a gallon already. Fill the rest in engine. Start her and let her build up oilpressure.
Shut down and let her sit for ten minutes to allow the oil to drain down from the head into the oilpan. Change fuelfilters or lube the chassis in the meantime.

    Check the dipstick.
    Be prepared for 10 gallons.

Got it changed. I used a 1R-1808 oil filter which is what Cat gave me and it fit fine but was a few inches longer than the Cat one that came off there. I put in nine gallons as a start and let it run, then shut it off and let it sit fifteen minutes. It was right at the full mark maybe a 1/16" over actually. Greased her up, changed the fuel filter and ready to roll again.

The 1R-1808 is what CAT calls a high performance filter which might replace some others.
