A guy here pulled a C13 out of an '06 379 and put a 70pin 3406E in it's place and he only had to drill 2 motor mount holes I believe. Since both motors were 70pin it was plug and play.

Dont forget about upper and lower rad pipes, charge air cooler hoses, turbo inlet piping, and the shifter and clutch linkage. Im not saying dont do it but make sure to consider everything involved.

Piping is trivial especially since the truck could have been ordered with the C15 when new. Not like your trying to put a C15 in a POS Volvo. Also the transmission doesn't move so the shifter and clutch linkage isn't involved.

I didn't say piping was a big deal just stating what needed to be changed. If I'm not mistaken a 3406E or C15 is longer than a c13 so yes clutch linkage and shifter need to be changed or adjusted. I have done several C12 to C15 conversions and these are the changes I ran into. Also if the replacement engine is longer the driveshaft will need to be shortened.

The transmission will remain in the same place, so the linkage, shifter and driveshaft will remain all the same. The engine will sit farther forward if you have the room to do so, and being a 379 it should not be a problem. You will however have to build 2 new motor mounts and most likely will need a new radiator depending on which C13 you have.

Now honestly why are you wanting to change the C13??? Mr. Haney has a tune to make that C13 a 550hp beast and it was more than enough for me to pull 46k tanks around WV. Just saying, a C15 isn't always better and doing a PDI tune and upgrading the manifold should save you quite a bit of $$$ and be more than sufficent.

What are you guys smoking I have never seen front engine mounts be moved in a chassis for different engines it is always the rear ones that get moved.

Not arguing with you, but if you move an engine any farther back in my truck you will have to move the firewall.
