One more thing, be sure and remove the two shipping screws from the IVA solenoids after they're installed. They are T6 Torx and were used to hold the two-piece solenoids together for easier installation. Not removing them has been known to cause issues....to the point that under warranty CAT wouldn't pay the dealer if they weren't reinstalled in the warranty cores sent back.

If you are anywhere near 6 or 700,000 miles the engine side wire harness's need to be completely replaced, including the harness's under the valve covers. You will be amazed how many demons will disappear, also pay close attention to the pass-thru connection in the spacer plate, make sure they are both secure and moisture resistant. excessive heat and oil soak will deteriorate the harness's in short order. Just my $0.02...

Yah im just under 700m, thats what everyone has been telling me. Ive been digging for part numbers for harnesses, does anyone have part numbers or a place to find the part numbers i need? Nxs engine

I disconnect both harnesses from the main harness. Disconnect all injectors, IVA's and brake solenoids. Basically totally disconnect the harnesses at all ends, it is very important that the harness has no connections to anything at either end. Then I power each pin with a jumper and verify 12v at the other end. Then push the button on the loadpro to load the circuit and check for a voltage drop. It should not drop more than 0.2v loaded. If it drops more than 0.2v, the harness is bad. If only 1 is bad, replace both while you're in there.
I have seen many failed harnesses and this test catches them before any codes are set. I spend the time to check them during an overhead adjustment and have found a few bad ones. On trucks that had "no issues", drivers noticed that the truck ran better after an overhead that we found a bad harness, even though the valves were not out of spec. -

I got an update from the cat shop on what they've been doing for anyone interested in the outcome of this. First they ran the actuator test and 5 and 6 didn't respond at all. (2,5,6 didn't respond at all 2 days ago.) They put on a new actuator on 5 and 6. Ran the test again now none of the actuators are responding at all. I asked them if they could test the harness, they said it will throw a code if the harness is failing.. So they are now putting on a test ECM, and going to see what that does. If that doesn't change things the only thing left would be the harness I assume.

This engine has a history, crankshaft was replaced, I would be going after the cylinder cut out results before looking at the actuator results. I would check the fuel pressure under load at the fuel return line.

Are the cylinder cut out results bad enough to warrant more digging as far as they go? Reason we started with ivas is because they actually showed up as failed. Also I do have them checking fuel pressure as I have never had it tested.
