I want to install a fuel pressure gauge, where would be a good place to T it in? I want to mount it on the frame not inside the cab.
-
the fitting on top of fuel filter base for secondary filter. its toward the front. i made a line long enough to hang it on my air filter so i could see it going down the road. then wind it up and hang it back under the hood on the firewall. dont like to run it in the cab. if you ever spring a leak it can be a mess in the cab. they have an electric one but i dont think they are as accurate.

I would advise you send your pump out to get it tested... sure you can shim your pump or change springs.. but you may need a new T.pump, vacuum maybe no good. The internal valve could be scored ( once scored NFG ) the way to check would be to remove allen key bolt or 5/8 nut, then take spring and pin out. Stick a small magnet in it then pull out and you'll be able to visually inspect the internal valve.
If you send it out to get it serviced with your r.valve they can test just the pump, or in series with your relief valve. Also they can put it to three different stages, 1 2 & 3.... Streching the spring is a bad idea. I recommend if your gonna do a red neck fix go find a better spring with better tension at your local spring shop.
