Hi everyone. Recently my check engine light has come on and goes off quickly. Usually once or twice during the start of the day. Everything is operating fine. No loss of power, no engine cutout, nothing.would you recommend changing the cam and crank sensors or anything else? Has anyone else had this problem?

Check the code when it's on. Probably low voltage to an actuator or something similar
-
Thanks Strollin, I’ll do that. I’ll let you know how l make out

Check the code. With the ignition key on, and the the cruise control switch off, hold the cruise “set and resume” switch up or down for about 5 seconds, the check engine lite will flash in 2 sets. Example; 5 flashes the first time and it will pause for a couple of seconds and flash 5 times again. That code would be 55, then you would look it up in google or wherever. 55 means no codes, everything is good. If it flashes 3 then 6, then you would look up 36. Does this make sense to you ? Hi Dave. Yes it does. Igot a 35, which is an rpm fault . Will change the crank and cam sensors and see what it does. Do I need to do anything special or just swap them out
-
Was it running or not when it came up RPM fault?
-
pretty sure the crank sensor needs to be calibrated if you swap it out. If so, I believe only cat can do it. But don't quote me on any of it. Just was reading it somewhere. Even so, Its only an active code if the check engine light stays illuminated. If it goes out, its just got stay as a stored code. So it kinda sounds like an intermittent issue

Hi cmrdev. I just swapped them out this morning and it started right up. The wife wasn't too happy that I was working on my ride on thanksgiving morning, but it only took an hour. I'll check everything tomorrow morning.
Oxbow Thanks this. -
Well that’s actually good to know! Thanks pal

I can’t count the days I spent weekends, Holidays, days off working on my “Ride”. That’s what happens when you own it. Or go find a stealership to do the work and still loose downtime. Tell the wifey it’s only the beginning. You will see what I mean down the road.stayinback Thanks this.
