Hi,
My dad has a 2007 International 9900IX with a 2007 Cat C15 engine in it. When he got the truck, he didn't pay any attention to the engine light, but noticed recently, that the engine light was illuminated. He called the mechanic to discuss the problem and the mechanic knew about the problem and said they have a few trucks with the light illuminated and just put black electrical tape over the light. I found some information on the web about the procedure to retrieve the code by holding the cruise switch down. He said the code is a "95". I don't know the serial number of his engine, but was hoping that someone could tell me what the "95" was for, and if it is "fixable". If a serial number is needed, please let me know and I will call him to get the serial number.
Thanks.

He should be able to get the code from the speedometer display. Just keep pressing the button beside the odometer until "faults" comes up. A number will appear showing how many codes are present. If there are no codes then "0" will appear.
If codes are present, then mash and hold the button, and the code number will appear. Use the button to scroll through the fault codes until the display returns to "faults". -
i can bet the mechanic is still in the manual era

intake valve actuator oil pressure voltage fault, code 95
Take it to the dealer for service as soon as possible -
As Mr Haney said get it to a dealer!!! The IVA (intake valve actuator) are a knwon problem with some of these engines. I have seen a couple of engines go through 2-3 IVAs a year. Mine on the other hand has acted up once and I replaced it, with no problems since. I may be wrong and correct me if I am, but I think CAT came out with a updated IVA.

LOL-Better have him take it to a dealer and have him only put his hands on the steering wheel. it needs a IVA replaced. common problem with a c-15

code 95 is the oil presure sensor for the iva witch is located externaly near the t-state housing and i have replace them as many ar 5 a week. you can replace it very easly just make sure you get the update sensor if you have a bxs it also need a harness.

crazzy448,
Thanks for the reply. How expensive is this part? I imagine that if you said you replace them as many as 5 a week, you are probably a mechanic. I will have to let my dad know. BTW, he said his truck and engine was manufactured around early 2006. I don't know if they consider that a 2007, but it has the ACERT technology. If you are a mechanic, or know where I can get a diagram of part locations for that engine, that would be helpful. So far, I have seen the main components such as Turbo, starter, alternator, fan belts, etc. I work regular car engines, but I imagine a diesel engine wouldn't be much different, just different parts, such as instead of spark plugs, it uses glow plugs.
