So here’s the background. Last month I blew my head gasket at 927k. It’s a 2005 KW T-600 with a C15 mxs converted to a 6nz.
I took it to MHC KW in Gainesville GA, they tear it down that night and then tell me the next morning, that since the truck has been “hotrodded” they won’t warranty anything. Since I had just dropped $11,000 for a platinum rebuild kit my hands were pretty well tied
Today I parked for the night, did my post trip and low and behold coolant all down the side of the truck, did the bottle test as best I could freezing my bag off at the rest area, FAIL.
To save anyone the rabbit hole, I watched the tech set and check sleeves and protrusion personaly. I’m almost certain it’s just a faulty part.
My question is, where can I go (preferably near mechanicsville, VA) that will work with me on getting cat to warranty the gasket or just generally not put me over a barrel. I’m getting pretty short on money and ideas so any help would be appreciated.
Has anyone else had issues with places not touching converted engines?

Who installed kit?
Mechanicsville, Virginia? Can you say ironic?
You may need an attorney.
I'm not a mechanic.Dubbs Thanks this. -
I’m delivering near mechanicsville tomorrow and know there’s a cat dealership, I’m not sure if they’ll touch my truck or not though...
I’ll just save the 1000 for the attorney and put it towards my deductible after my truck rolls into a river or off a cliff. Just kidding, I love my truck, she just doesn’t love me backOxbow and Oldironfan Thank this. -
I would have a problem with the fact that they took it apart and then told you.
Truck and manufacturer shops around here hook a diagnostic tool up to them. Find they have been altered and park them out side. Tell the customer they will put it back as original or will not work on the engine.
Liner protrusion does not guarantee the mating surface between the block and liner is correct.
I have seen some hard to get to coolant hoses and fittings diagnosed as a leaking head gasket. Hope you can be that lucky.Oxbow Thanks this. -
I wouldn’t think a tech would need a tool to see an mxs with one single turbo to know it isn’t original... but I’d be wrongBoxCarKidd Thanks this. -
Before they installed the kit was the tail light warranty discussed ?
Heavyd Thanks this. -
What cap are you referring to?

Is it not running hot? Did you replace the radiator cap?
