I understand my acert twins are good up to 900
-
Thats for sure, they will only be able to make it run worse.
Cat sdp Thanks this. -
They made an NXS that was 625hp also, but as already stated above you won't get a 475 or 550 to just turn up to a 625 with its hard parts and Cat software.

I'm shopping for a truck with a Cat that'll go 650 hp. Am I being hasty in avoiding the Acerts? I'm looking at 6NZs, but I notice some really nice trucks with Acerts that I'm avoiding. Should I give them a harder look, or is the negative hype justified. I'm looking at 379 Petes from '03 on back. Should I be looking harder at those '04s, '05s, and 06s? I don't need to go to California.

Put a tune in an Acert and you won't be dissapointed. Whether it be a BD tune or one from PDI.
osokusmc Thanks this. -
A short simple answer is a 6NZ is a "simpler" engine, less parts to play with or break. There can be good points to the latter C-15's though.osokusmc Thanks this.

You can do alot with 6nz or mbn without alot of money. Just turbo and a good flash trust me. 750 flywheel power.
-
Yes, but 6NZ trucks that are beat to death already still draw a premium plus the $$$ to bring the remainder of the truck back to life. The other option is glider in that route, but seeing some gliders push & exceed the $150k mark is insane.
Was #2 in line to buy a T800 with a MBN last year that had 400,000 original miles. When I was calling about the truck, the guy who had seen the ad in truck paper first was booking his flight to go get it. So may be in the right place at the right time can work? But cannot plan that either. -
Yes these old trucks are bringing good money because of lack of emissions components.
