Most 3406A's were prechamber engines. Some were converted to direct but generally speaking prechamber engines weren't as efficient as direct injection.

Don't you have to run like 20+:1 compression ratio for a PC + glowplug engine to be as efficient as a DI at 16:1 or 17:1?
I wonder what the fuel efficiency figures would be on an Acert C15 running swirl chambers using electronic unit pumps. -
How are you getting a glider that's what I want to know?
