c7 cat flash cod 58 w/ gauges and warning lamp malfuction

    New ecm and now the dash is lit up and gauges acting funny. new icm no fix and ecm has flash code 58 (j1939 link fault), 120 oms at resitors and 60 oms on the system. j1939 fault seems to be in ecm only, no other moduals seem to show problems with this link. this is a 07/03 gmc c8500. is this code related to my dash problem?

    Were you able to figure out what caused the FC 58 and the dash gauges and lights malfunctioning?

    My truck also has the same symptoms.

    A data link fault could make for funny dash issues if your dash is controlled by the data link. First I'd make sure that whoever programmed the new ECM set the data link parameters correctly. If they are correct, ohm out the J1939 data link, it should have 60 ohms. Id that's correct, I'd find the data link going to the dash, ABS and any other ECU that has a data link connection. Unplug the data link from one at a time to see if the fault goes inactive.
