You will be required to take the WA class C written test and pay to transfer the license.
    Everything transfers without issue.
    The only caveat is hazmat.
If you licensed or renewed your hazmat within the previous 24 months, it will transfer without issue.
If it's more than 24 months, you will be required to take the hazmat test again.

I transferred my CDL to Washington from Nevada in September. I only had to retest my hazmat.

Everything else switched over with no fuss, with just one swipe of the debit card.

I keep seeing these posts asking about CDL transfers to another state.

Are you moving your home to WA? If you are ok but if it's just a company transfer to another yard and your home stays where it says on the license you do not have to transfer the license.

Unless the FMCSA made a rule change that I can not find that says you must transfer your license to the home terminal of your employer I would just leave it where it is.

    UNLESS:

They might be having some income tax problem issue as in you live in a state that has an income tax but the company is based in a no income tax state and they want you to change your home address and CDL so they do not have to pay those taxes and if that is so, then they should cough up the transfer cost to be fair as if that IS the reason they are a little cheap!
