Since drivers spend most of their lives inside of their cabs, how come companies don't show the living conditions on their web sites? Does anyone know of a site that shows pictures or video of the inside of a typical cab?

schneider has a virtual tour of the inside of the cab. I think there are others from my research but can't remember who. Millis may be one of them also.

in all honesty, most of your big companies have the same stripped down truck as the next. It may be Freightliner, or a Pete, or an International, but all in all they are the same. As far as comfort goes, it is up to you as the driver to bring the things with you to make it comfy.

Most large carriers have a pretty standard sleeper. Most the companies have that info available on there pamplets. I know Stevens, US express, Werner, Covanent, ect had pics of there sleepers in there info pamplets. So if you can not find onlind it may be possible to call that company and get there info pamplet.good luck

The truck manufacturers websites have interior views and slide shows. A fleet tractor will not be that fancy, but the size will be the same.

I agree. Schneider does have a virtual tour of one of their Centuries.

However...as has been said already...most companies will have the basic features...at least one bed (unless its a condo roof with two beds). probably at least two places to hang clothes, with another for general storage. A roll out desk possibly, and a flat table above that.

Trucking companies are looking to make it comfy for the driver. HOWEVER with that said, they are also looking for Cost....and unfortunately $$ wins out. So basic features it is. (which reminds me to make a note about a little sleeper accessory I've been thinking about making / selling).

Some trucking companies may have more or less. I mean...I had to drive a Ryder rental junker, which was a Columbia if I remember correctly. Basically a cheaper version of a Century. All the dash stuff was the same...however the sleeper was a bit smaller. No condo roof, only two - 1 foot(ish) wide storage unit by the bed. On top of those units were cloth covered holders to put empty your pockets on.

Unless you're a newbie, more than likely you've seen the inside of most of the trucks out there.

I remember how great it was to be assigned to my first conventional cab, in 1993. I could sit on the edge of the bunk. I no longer had to get dressed while lying on the bunk. There was enough space between the seats to install a "telephone table" that I assembled from a Walmart kit.

That's exactly what I am, buddy. That's why I asked the question.

Thanks for the responses. I found the virtual view link on the Schneider website.
