Thinking about replacing my cac on the truck it has been on there a long time (1,025,000 miles) and was wondering which cac would be better.
Should I go with a Dura-lite cac or a Detroit Radiator severe duty cac?
I have heard good things about the Dura-lite but nothing about the Detroit Radiator brand.
So any suggestions would be great.

call detroit radiator and speak with engineering they are very helpful. i have used their rads and they are very good . i assume the CAC would be also. Dura-lite can be warranteed at almost any truck dealer, not so with Detroit Rad . I would ask both how much more effective their CAC is over OEM CAC. my .02

Ive heard bad things about the dura-lites. Made in china with sand casting and they are known to crack the welds on the tanks. Heard that they also don't like to stick to their warranty. The best type of cac to get if you can get it is a bar and plate design one

i have had issues with dura lite cacs they do everything they can to not cover it under warranty.

You could pressure check it first. If it dont leak then I would remove it and flush it out and clean the bugs out of it. Check radiator for bugs too while you have the cooler off you might be surprised what you find.

Thanks for the input.
Sounds as though duralite may not be the way to go maybe I will look a little harder at the Detroit Rad cac I seen they offer the bar and plate style cac.
