Well I got my truck sorry I will not share the number on a public forum like this. I will tell you it is Viper Red 2010 Freightliner Super Cascadia. I looked at 6 trucks 2 were worth looking into leasing the other 4 were not IMO, but 3 of the other 4 were picked up by other drivers. I had chose of 4 petes and 2 freightliners. My truck had some fender damage and drivers rim damage so the body shop took it in to fix. They said it should be ready tomorrow afternoon. Supposed to sign lease anytime after 12 so I hope truck is done so I can complete the truck inspection checklist. Now off to bed.

Make sure you're uber-picky on that inspection!

Thanks buddy when you going to be through SpringMO?

I get there rarely - maybe once or twice a year.
Maybe.
Too many drivers, not enough loads - and every last one of em' is shooting for the "golden load." My usual strategy is to take the first load I can with the shortest run possible, to get back out into the real freight. -
Well got my truck, all issues resolved until I drove to Campus Inn tonight and the truck pulls pretty bad so already talked to road assist, seeing tire shop in AM and then alignment if needed. Good stuff.
Oh and I met OpenRoadDreamer tonight when I got back to Campus InnLast edited: May 20, 2011

Well I hit the road with my 1st load yesterday afternoon I drove about 5 hours to OKC, OK. Truck runs like a champ run a little warmer then I would like but that us ok. This load is a 2 stopper, San Jose and Fairfield, CA. Almost everything was completed on the truck it just needs a CB and my sidebox installed. I also get a free detail next time I am through because the truck was pretty dirty inside still. My fuel mileage so far is 7.3 not bad cruising at 63 with a 72k lbs truck. Be safe everyone.

Slow down some... you don't need to be running faster than you need to in order to make those appointments. That fuel bill is your largest controllable expense - everything else is peanuts compared to that. That being said, I ran 65 all last night to get to my first appointment without running short of hours this morning...
Think about this: Not in a rush last week, I posted 8.56 mpg at 54 mph - running heavy all week. Using say $3.75 for the fleet average price and say 2500 miles for the week, that's 50.4 gallons less - and $190 more in my pocket. Thats almost $10,000.00 per year - if you run it out. I'll also not be posting that kind of mileage all year.
