Looking forward to a few more weeks before we get the snow and such, tomorrow CO goes into chain carry effect. I hope everyone is well.

Well I had my 1st roadside level 1 inspection yesterday. I was leaving Walmart in Grantsville, UT on the 138 just about back to the 80 and Utah HP waved me over, I stopped he asked for id, reg and such then said he did not see a decal for a recent inspection so decided to do it right there. He through on dickies to cover his uniform and went to work, my truck passed no issues at all he was impressed at how clean it was, the trailer on the other hand had a lose glad hand that I had already tightened with a hammer still have VERY SMALL leak he heard it, and then the slack adusters were close, 1 3/4, 2, 2, and 2 1/4. He said he was placing me out of service for brake issues, I said excuse me sir I am of duty and 40 miles from our terminal may I please run it in there and get it fixed, he agreed that would be fine since I was not under load. He wrote the violations and off I went. The shop said he had marked the wrong one out of adjustment but they adjusted all 4 and replaced the service glad hand. So much for my bonus for passing an inspection. Now I am sitting in Fruita, CO headed to drop yard in Denver then hopefully right out of there.

That sucks... Maybe youll get it next time lol

When you pickup a trailer you can adjust the brakes in about 10 seconds... release your tractor and trailer parking brakes, push hard on your brake pedal 3 times - get at least 60 lbs of pressure on them. Sometimes your automatic slack adjusters won't adjust without that.phillip65942 Thanks this.

Hey IP I tried that when he stopped me when I pulled the truck straight for him I pumped them 3 times, the shop said they have no clue why they were so far out of adjustment. When I was with my first company they said if you ever get inspected pump brakes 2-4 times with fairly firm presses, I was bummed it did not work but at least the shop did find something wrong with them.

Well my current load delivers to Chester, NY. FM got it moved up to today at 1800 instead of 1800 tomorrow night. So darn late going to be fun getting parking tonight after being unloaded may just dead head back to the Pittston Terminal. Now to get online and find a truck stop close to there just in case.
