Not all car leases are like you describe and there are major differences. My daughter has one that does not include maintenance, towing, and such. But her 4-wheeler lease was not signed to create a business entity. IP's was. My daughter leased her car because she gets a new one every so often, does not have a car to sell at the end, and does well as long as she knows the limitations. She is aware of how she drives so as not to pay the 25 cpm penalty.

Ironpony is totally right--whether a lease can be profitable depends on the words in the legally binding contract between lessee and lessor. Understand them and you will do the best you can. Whether it is "right" for anyone depends on the anyone's situation. A lease versus owning is something I am interested in because I gain all the benefits of owning a business without ending up with an asset - a worn out, broken down truck - that I have to deal with in the end. Plus the trucking companies I'm interested in have a walk-away clause with some requirements.

    Lessee...

I spent 3 years on the company side before making the jump... timing is everything starting a new business.

You have the option of buying out the truck at the end of the lease if you'd like... or you can go get another one.

We have a warranty on the "power train" which is defined as anything that makes the truck go. The rest is on your dime.

Benefits? Hmm... $$$$ :biggrin_255: I'm my own boss :biggrin_25525: I enjoy the challenge of running my own business. :yes2557:

Well guys long time since I posted. Thanks to those who have kept in touch with me. I beat the 1st round of cancer but fear it may be back in my kidneys. Been going through all kinds of test. I miss the road like crazy but have enjoyed being home with my wife and kids. Stay safe out there guys. If you are going to be through Phoenix let me know maybe we can catch lunch.

HEY PRIME DRIVERS!!!!!! I hope all is well with everyone. I miss the road like heck I got my DOT Physical last month and am doing good. I had a simple knee surgery a few weeks ago and am recovering. I work local for now out of trucking I work in a call center, yes imagine that CAGE in a call center. Anyway wanted to just give an update my health is good, recovering fine, losing some weight. Once I convince my wife and kids it is a good thing I might get back on the road. Stay safe drivers
