I’ve never heard of the cameras on the mirrors…are they recording the driver and traffic?
-
They only record the outside of the truck. It's a wide angle lens of each side of the truck. I like it because if someone sideswipes you, you have proof that it wasn't your fault when it otherwise could be hard to prove.nextgentrucker, JForce28, Knucklehead and 1 other person Thank this.

Came off home time and had to get up to Caledonia for some maintenance. My truck needed a new PTO pump and some other things this week so instead of sitting around in Caledonia while they worked on it they offered to give me a spare truck to run a load while I wait. I went down to Eddyville, IA and picked up going to La Crosse, WI. Delivered it this morning (and got completely soaked, didn't think about bringing any rain gear in the spare truck lol) and then headed back to Caledonia. Waited for maybe an hour or two and my truck was done. I was delighted to see they washed it for me while they had it and they even washed my floor mat too.
I asked about going west but unfortunately they either didn't care or didn't have anything going west at the moment because now I'm heading to Adairsville, GA. My dispatcher wasn't in today so I'll ask again about going west after I deliver this one. At least it was preloaded for me in Cedar Rapids.Goody3635, wulfman75, Knucklehead and 2 others Thank this. -
I think I might have ask you before but why do you like the Westcoast better than the Eastcoast? I know traffic, tight places and stuff, I've never been to the Westcoast yet but just for the mountains, I'd rather do the Midwest, or the Eastcoast if I have too lol.

Hell, I loved having an out n back to CA. If I could get a dedicated run to CA, I think I'd come out of retirement.
nextgentrucker and Cobrawastaken Thank this. -
I hooked up to my loaded trailer in Cedar Rapids and stayed the night there last night. When I woke up, I had a message that the delivery got rescheduled a week out and to hook up to a different loaded trailer going to Chambersburg, PA. I didn't complain because I'd rather go anywhere other than Georgia lol.
The traffic is definitely most of it. The cities are all really close together so you get less of a break between traffic jams and even when you're out of the cities there's constantly cars and other trucks passing you (and cutting you off after they do, most of the time). Not only that but the truck stops get full a lot earlier in most places on the east coast. Going out west is much more peaceful. Traffic is more spread out between the cities and there's way more distance between the cities. A lot of the cities don't have terrible traffic to begin with. It's only when you get out to the really big cities like LA, SF, Portland, Seattle etc. where you deal with the really bad traffic but to me the drive out there is worth dealing with that especially when you head straight back out with your next load.hotrod1653, drvrtech77, nextgentrucker and 2 others Thank this. -
Cool, I just don't want to deal with the mountains lol.

Quit trippin' about the mountains, dude. Thousands of guys run them every day. If you don't have your head permanently fused to your arse, you'll do fine.Tall Mike, Speedy356, drvrtech77 and 2 others Thank this.
