It's hard I have limited experience and only tanker endorsement.
I was at a place called rosenstein's produce for a year. It was slip seating. And I showed up my tractor and trailer were ready to go. I made my deliveries and pickups and that was it. Didn't worry about fueling or anything. So it was about as steering wheel holder as you can get.

Try to get all your endorsements, you will be more marketable to companies.as far tanker look up roehl, transwood, amerigas, kenan advantage, highway transport and foodliner. Dont pay attention to the years of experience require. Apply and give them a ring. The worst they can say is no, eventually someone will hire you. Just measure you get them endorsements.

Try looking into NFI. They're known to train new students and hire drivers with limited experience. They have various different dedicated accounts that don't need endorsements...like Bimbo Bakeries. It cound be a way to get a foot in the door with Grocery Haulers. They've also just got into hauling mail as well. So you might land a gig pulling USPS loads. They have locations in Hughestown and Brenigsville.
A Duie Pyle in Kingston or Pottsville has a dedicated account with Wegmans in Pottsville to deliver groceries to their supermarkets. It says you need a hazmat and 2 years experience...but I would apply anyway. You never know. Plus...it MAY be a way get a foot in the door with Wegmans private fleet. They're virtually IMPOSSIBLE to get in. They have a no cap payrate and get a .50 cent raise every six months.
JED Trucking has a dedicated account with Wakefern in Brenigsville delivering to ShopRite supermarkets. They're teamsters with benefits that's suppose to be better than UPS. Plus, you start off at top rate...which is rare for a union gig. They get paid by trip rate. I think you need two years experience as well...but your previous grocery gig might help you out. No endorsements is required.
But I would also agree with what @Texas_hwy_287 mentioned. Get all your endorsements and land a LTL gig. Dockwork really isn't all that bad. You get to drive around in a forklift all day. You just have to look at the big picture and see what you'll be making a couple years from now...$$$$$.Metallica88 and Texas_hwy_287 Thank this. -
