    Here's a late update.

I got dispatched last Wednesday just as my reset was finished. I had to load in Arvin Ca at Grimmway Farms with a straight load of carrots going to Milton Pa. I left Ontario and decided to go the extra 25 miles up 15 to 395 then across 58 to Bakersfield. I figured the extra miles was a lot better then going through the L.A. traffic at 4pm. I got to the shipper and checked in. My load wouldn't load until 8am local time the next morning so I camped out at the shipper. Right at 8am I was given a door to back into and put my 20 pallets of product on. As usual I single, doubled and singled the first 4 pallets then doubled everything to the back. I drove up to Bruces T/S scaled it out, moved my trailer tandem up 3 holes and was ready to roll. As I was climbing Tehachapi Louie called and asked if I could deliver on Monday and I told him sure. The trip back was an absolute pleasure, no snow, ice or rain, in fact it was in the high 60's across NM, Ok, and Mo. As I would find out it would be a whole lot different just 2 days later.

Coming back east it's the same run and fuel stops. Kingman Az for fuel, Gallup NM for fuel and sleep, OKC for fuel and sleep, Clayton In for fuel and sleep then Milton Pa for delivery. I arrived at the consignee 5am, checked in and was assigned a door at 6am and was empty at 7:30. I had heard about the storm coming in behind me so I got to the yard by 10am, got my truck serviced and was dispatched on a load out of Mcelhattan Pa going to Orlando for Wednesday. I drop and hooked and was on my way south by 4pm.

I was watching the weather forecast and wanted to get to I-95 as soon as I could. I ran into the nasty weather and roads at the 30mm in Pa and fought it all the way to Ashland Va. I got to Kenly NC and took my 10 hour break there. The next morning I got up and made it to Orlando 9.5 hours later. I bumped the dock at our regular door that we have reserved and went to bed. At 4am the lumper woke me up, I handed him my bills and went back to sleep. At 8am I was empty and headed to the house. I got home at 11 yesterday morning and will be home until Monday. Louie called me today to make sure I will be ready to go on Monday. I told him absolutely and he said he would send over my load info to my truck tomorrow. That's about all for now.

I have only asked for 3 specific days off while working here and have been accommodated each time. I did ask to be home next Sunday and Monday. It's my birthday followed by my anniversary and my wife and I are doing some things to celebrate me officially becoming a senior citizen (55) and to celebrate our 12th anniversary on Valentines day. Be safe all, God Bless.

Hey Johnboy, sounds like they been running you a lot. but that's a good thing. sounds like you were married on Valentines day? me and my wife were
Married on Valentines day in 1995. the date was her idea. Now I have to buy at least two gifts for her.

I did my drug test today and just need a driving test. Mort is gone for two weeks, So I talked to jim today he seems like a nice guy. I think he was upset
because when he called me i was raking leaves and he has to shovel snow. He helped my a lot today.

Johnboy just like the other new hires here I have a few questions I would like to ask. would it be ok for me to message you? I don't know if I have enough post but i can try

    Hi Rookie

I found out first hand that this company is nonsense, but then again you need experience to work for Calex. I needed to get to work soon and Jim expedited this process. Mort is out for two weeks and Jim must have his hands full.

Jim did it by the book! but at the same time used some common sense. I was impressed " seems that's something the large carriers are lacking ". and I do appreciate any help I can get Chris.

I am new to the e-logs so I will be looking to get educated on this.

Hey Johnboy, just got off the phone with Louie looks like I'm moving to the other side. He has me on a load to Jacksonville for Monday morning at 8. I'm home in Philly and have to run up to grab my truck and get the load over in McElhattan. Just curious if the customer lets us stay on the property or is there somewhere close by that I can park before I have to go in and unload? Been a while since I've been to Fl for any reason so I want to make sure I set myself up correctly as far as picking up the load and making sure I'm there. Thanks....Al
