Unfortunately they don't. They do things a little different, you need to live at either end of their freight lanes. Cullman is north Alabama isn't it?

Let's see if I haven't lost my touch with routing. Looking at the map, from Vegas, it appears the best route to Salinas is I-15 to Barstow, then CA58 over to Bakersfield, then CA99 or I-5 to CA46 to Paso Robles, then up the 101 to Salinas.

    Am I correct?

That is the most direct route. However fuel could be an issue once you arrive at Salinas.

If you stay on I-5 up to Santa Nella...fuel there (T/A, Love's) then go West over 152, take the 156 cut-off to 101 south into Salinas.

A lot of drivers do it this way...a little longer in miles...maybe 30 longer.

When you get over 58 into Bakersfield, use the 46 to get over to I-5...much better than the 58 across the valley.

That's my kind of week right there! What's the most amount of miles you have gotten in one week?

Most I ever got was 4360 miles in one week with TransAm.

That's not my kind of week. I rather get my 2800 p/w and be home every 5 days. The most I have had with Calex was 4100. The most I ever did was about 18 years ago, I had right at 5200 in seven days. Extremely not legal, I kept buying new hours every so often with new log sheets. Thankfully those days are long gone and are now truck driver stories.

I am going to write some things that have absolutely nothing to do with trucking. They will have to do with the events since Sunday night pertaining to the finding and killing of Bin Laden.

From someone that was directly affected by the events of 9/11, I had a cousin that was due to retire from the NYC Fire Dept the week before Christmas in 2001 but instead did what he had done the previous 25 years, help others when needed. These are my thoughts. If you disagree with me I will truly accept anyone's thoughts. That is what I find amazing about our way of life, we can agree to disagree and still be friends.

We have as a family always been asked about closure, we will never have complete closure, but after almost 10 years, I'm relieved to know that the last thing Bin Laden saw before 2 bullets were put into his head was a U.S. Navy Seal. Great job guys!

For almost 10 years I've played with the thought that not every Muslim is a terrorist, but every terrorist has been Muslim.

The followers and believers of Bin Laden are upset with us because of the burial at sea. I'm upset that they didn't tie steaks around his body before they threw him over board so the sharks could have a picnic.

They call him a Martyr, you mean the guy that used his wife as a human shield? The Seals didn't ask her to move, they killed her to. Now at least we won't have to worry about her giving birth to another terrorist.

With the news about Pakistan's involvement in covering up and hiding him in a million dollar compound, they should be thankful I'm not giving orders, the last order I would give would be to push the button and make that country a black hole for the next 100 years.

To all the people who have lost loved ones during both 9/11 and our long war looking for this puke, I just want to say thank you and may God Bless you all.

Thats all I have for now, I'm quite sure I will have some people that disagree with what I wrote, but I'm sure you can understand what my family and I have been dealing with these past 10 years.
