....i kinda did the same this week...except i was both empty and home thursday night a day early with about 5 min driving time to spare on the clock. I was supposed to be dropping my trailer in jersy Friday to my shipper for sunday, but turned out the shipper had a delivery saturday so we decided it was best i took the empty home with me and return sunday. I couldnt get in touch with Billy till like friday 2pm to tell him im home already. He sounded a bit pissed but what was i gonna do i had enuff time to make it home and was home bound anyway and didnt need to drop trailer.

That sucks to hear for that company but glad to hear you're coming back.

it's just hard to part with my local position and the kind of money I make, granted I wouldn't have to leave the company, it's just the fear of the unknown I guess........[/QUOTE]

I felt the same working a more local gig 5 min from me for 6.5 years. At least you have the option to go back if you needed to and can try something else out. As far as the unknown this would be extremly easy to at least give a try for a few weeks since youd be up and running right away after orientation. Once youre up and running, busy they will keep you.

    Some good advice right there.

You know Johns making them big bucks when hes buying dinners lol.

Sorry to hear about the lack of hours. I know you like being local, but you seemed to like Calex as well. Good luck!

I'm currently sitting in Gallup NM heading to Las Vegas for Tuesday. I'll stop in Flagstaff, meet my mom for lunch (she's driving up from Phoenix) and then run the rest of the way up to Vegas and take my reset before delivery.

    Be safe all!

I saw you in New Mexico earlier today. I see you got everything under control. Give me a holler tomorrow. I'm in OKC getting ready for bed.

Voyager1968 are you going to keep up with your videos on youtube? I thought the scenics on your tri-axle videos were pretty good and I'm betting running OTR would give you the opportunity to make some interesting videos. Hopefully you'll keep up with them, youtube could use some better quality trucking vids in my opinion.

I thought it was you. I was going to give a shout on the CB, but this guy's radio isn't the best.

I doubt that I will. Some companies aren't fond of the practice, and so far I like Calex and don't want to get in trouble.

Understandable, but I'm sure you'd agree with me on the lack of talent on youtube. Some of our members do pretty good jobs though, AmericanTrucker, Dooner, and a guy by the name of Dave all make good videos.

You probably did pass me. If you called on the CB, I doubt I heard you. I'm not in my truck, and this guy's radio doesn't work right. I can't wait to get back into my own truck with my own belongings. So far so good otherwise though.

I'm empty in Milton. On my way to the yard. I'll post an update about my trip back later.
