hey johnboy, i just seen a listing in my area which is central NY, for calex. after reading alot of your post it seens to be a great company to work for and guessing everyone there is pretty nice to deal with. so if i can ask you some question about them... hows the pay and home time? whats your overall view of calex? also im presuming that they assign you a truck and your able to take it home when your off? im new to OTR and the company i am with now is a small local company that requires you to bring the truck and trailer back to the yard every night. thanks johnboy!!

We haul the same freight out from PA every week. It's either adult diapers, canned food or playground equipment. Going back it's either paper or one of our regular customers in Griffin GA. We just had one of our drivers from Ft. Myers leave due to medical reasons so they are looking for another driver down here in FL. We are set up to run out from PA to FL then right back to the North East, when we get empty up north we are deadheaded right back to the Pittston terminal.

Pay will depend on experience. If you can prove 2 years and no more then 2 jobs in the last 2 years then they will start you out at .36 p/m. If you run regional then it starts out at .40 p/m. Home time is very good here. I'm home every weekend for at least a reset. We are assigned to our trucks and you would be able to take it home. Living in upstate NY is an Ideal location.

Hey all, I thought I'd check in and give an update to my little world so far this week. I was unloaded without a problem in Vero Beach Monday around 1pm and quickly was given a new load that had me deadheading up to Quincy FL for a 10AM pick up on Tuesday for a load going to Newark NJ for this morning. I must say, another thumbs up for Benjamin Moore paints in Newark. What a bunch of nice people to deal with. Yesterday I was doing my thing when I got a brilliant idea, I called my dispatcher and asked if he had anything going to the west coast. I figured that after not being west of I-81 since I started here last August that I was ready for a change of scenery. After calling in empty this morning I was told by my dispatcher Louie that I had a loaded trailer waiting for me at the yard going to Las Vegas. The nice thing about it is that Garylobo from here on the blog has a load going to the same place. This load is the same product from the same shipper that I took to Canada this past winter. So,as I write this I am sitting in Lamar Pa getting ready for bed. I need to be in Vegas Tuesday and already was told that I will be loading a load of produce out of California on Thursday after I take a reset. I'll update this over the weekend. Be safe all. God Bless.

Johnboy, you've got to post earlier about those pickups in north florida. Quincy is right down the road from the house, I run dedicated from Tallahassee over to Dothan all day long and had seen you ran over towards Panama City a few weeks back, I've been keeping an eye out for that Calex truck. As for me, won't be hard to miss, you can smell us a mile away as for the fact that we haul trash for leon county, and myself am lucky enough to have to contract for the bio-solid account, human waste, nasty stuff but you get the point. Next time you're up this way on 10 look for the Pritchett trucks rolling east and west, I'm in truck 1410, and unlike most super truckers I keep my radio turned up and on channel 19 99.9 percent of the time.

You got it pal, I happen to notice one of your trucks Monday afternoon up on 10 as I was getting close to the Flying-J at the 192 mm. Right now I'm in Missouri at the TA at mm 58 on I-70 in a snow storm. They are calling for 3-5" by tonight. I just checked the weather and this snow is more of a north/south storm and I should be out of it around Salina Kansas. Be safe, I'll shout out later this weekend.

Well I made it to the Petro in Salina KS and have run out of the snow. It was a real mess across Missouri and eastern Kansas, a bunch of accidents and real nasty roads. This is the last day of winter and boy did it go out with a bang. Yesterday's high was 69 and right now it's 19. Tomorrow will end with me and my running buddy Garylobo in Glenwood Springs CO. He delivers Tuesday morning and I deliver Tuesday afternoon. Our hours will be verrrry short after we empty so we will be taking a reset in Vegas then start loading in CA Thursday evening. See you all later!

I'll try my best. I'll be in the mountains west of Denver tomorrow night so it might be Monday before I get a good enough signal.
