    Either one. The TA west hasn't seen me since before it was a 76.

    Good to hear, I definitley prefer the TA East.

    Hey John I got a couple of questions if you don't mind ...

    First of all where did that load originate from that took you out west? I thought it was all dry out and reefer back. Did you get paid to unload that last stop? Also how much is the extra stop pay?

    I see you have a nice load going back, only 27k. Never been to Santa Maria, how did they route you back east? Did you run down the coast and through LA or did you cross those mountains and go out through Bakersfield?

    Sorry John, you have answered so many questions for me already, I can't believe I have any more, lol.
    Getting excited about starting, haven't been OTR in a while.

    I will let John answer the other ones as they are more specific to HIS run, but I can tell you that Calex lets you pretty much route yourself.

    The load originated at our customer in Mountain Top PA. it was a dry load, all 12,000lbs of plastic cups with 2 drops. Yes I got and extra $50 to handle the last drop. Extra stop pay is $20. Sometimes we have a 5-7 stop load that you can get done in one day.

    They don't route us, we route ourselves. They figure we know how to read a map. Or in my case I've been back and forth across this country so many times in the last 31 years I pretty much know what interstates take me to where I'm going. I picked up my atlas for the first time in about 6 months the other day just to see the shortest way from Livermore Ca to Santa Nella, a whopping 64 miles.

    I left Santa Maria and went Hwy 166 east to Bakersfield. The last time I was on that road was about 20 years ago. I haven't missed much. I got to Bakersfield at 1:30 this morning. Can't leave until 11:30, the clock says I'm still tired even though I've been up for the last 2 hours watching the minutes tick off until I'm not tired anymore. Milan NM tonight to end my day. Tomorrow I'll only have 9.5 hours to run then start picking up hours after midnight Friday night.

    Did Ontario West close it's restaurant in the last year? It had a sit down one with a buffet.

    Here's the difference.

    West = Lot Lizards
    East = No Lot Lizards

    Been awhile since I last visited either one but basically

    WEST = Get to see the SUN set

    EAST = Get to see the SUN rise

    Been a while for me too but the West was a dump and the East was a decent TA.

    Well now in my 3rd week at Calex, and even though it started with a holiday it has already been better than the previous 2. Rome, NY to Bethlehem, PA waited half the day to get unloaded, then back to Mountain Top to pu load going to Haines City, FL. Made it to reciever this morning and wiated 3 hrs to get unloaded which was no problem since I had to take 2 hrs sleeper to satisfy my split break. Then went back up to Jacksonville(after passing by Disney world twice) to pu my next load. They got me outta there in less than an hour, and I had enough time to get to ex 164 in SC, heading back to Pittston. So by the time I get back to the yard I will have 2500 miles plus whatever load to get me home

    Thanks again JohnBoy.

    Nice to hear you save the company a few dollars. Most of those grocery/food supply warehouses are crooks. Lumper fee's are ridiculous, $140 to restack some plastic cups should be illegal.

    As for the routing, yeah I must of forgot about that. Nice to be treated as a proffesional and not be micro managed.
