That's a pretty good deal for an OTR gig. You pretty much know to the hour (barring breakdowns and such) how your whole week is going to go, and you end up with a full, traditional weekend.

As a side note, I've been cleared to come back on board. If everything goes the way I want, I'll probably start back up the last week of August.

To the hour? On this run it's more like to the minute. My last drop in Deerfield Beach had me coming through the gate at 6:55am every week and home at 8:30am. Things have changed a little here. We lost some customers and got some new ones. The biggest one we lost was the diapers out of McElhattan. You'll hear we didn't loose it, that it's going by intermodal train. I haven't seen a load of diapers in 4 months, either has any other driver that lives in Florida. I guess that isn't called loosing the account, I guess it's called not having it anymore.

    Even better!

That's too bad about the McElhattan deal as it was nice, consistent freight, especially for you guys living down there.

That's the main reason I would take this dedicated run. The same freight and the same customers the same day's. The miles on the round trip come out to 2800 per week and the extra drop pay is nice. But I have some doubts about getting it though. If they give it to a company driver (me), then the company makes a whole lot more revenue for themselves instead of having an O/O doing it. But, Louie will lose a coast driver if he gives it to me. In the 3 years I've been here I have never had an issue about miles or hometime, it's just nice to be on a dedicated run and having a long weekend every week.

Why wouldn't they take you back? As bad as they need qualified drivers I doubt very much personal issues would get involved.
