The sad thing about payroll "mistakes" is it "could" be considered a sign of deeper financial problems within an otherwise decent company. Other tell tale signs of a carrier in financial trouble are fuel transactions that get denied on the road, and ez pass electronic alerts stating "account balance low."
I certainly hope Calex gets these issues resolved quickly for the drivers affected by these so called "errors." This information could seriously damage a companies credibility, not only with the current drivers but with potential new recruits that might steer clear after reading about Johnboys payroll shortages.

One other thing, I ask for nothing extra, just what I've earned to be paid when it's suppose to and correct. You would think, like you said, that the last person they need to screw up with the most important aspect of my employment (Payroll), that has given them an advertising tool and has been a very positive employee that has a somewhat of a cult following, that I would have my checks correct every week. Oh well, I guess it makes for good blogging. The Challenger and jlkklj777 Thank this. -
It sounds like they need to get back on top of things really, if they are having issues in getting payroll right get someone who can do the job and from my experience over the years is if they are having trouble with payroll they are also having trouble making sure all the loads they haul are invoiced correctly too and having troubles with one usually happens with the other and can be very costly to a company. Those two things are the most important in operating a trucking business. Very costly mistakes..

I wouldn't be too concerned about the company going tits up anytime soon. It seems every time there's a change in the payroll department things are always screwed up for the first month or so. It just happens to be John's turn this time around. That being said, it does need to be straightened out as soon as possible. And its always good to be prepared just in case. But then, I wouldn't need lots of money to get home if the worst should happen, just a decent pair of walking shoes...
JohnBoy and UTI TRANSPORT Thank this. -
Hey Johnboy do they use a payroll company or do it in house?

Question for you all... Has anybody received their W2 yet from there? I was just home for an emergency until Thursday morning and still have not gotten mine from there, even though I've already gotten the one for Heniff when I was last through the yard a couple of weeks ago.

I got mine a few days ago.

Thanks John and Steve! Looks like I'll have to call Monday and see what's going on, since nothing's changed from when I left there...
