JohnBoy,
How you liking that W900 now that you been driving that for awhile and not the Volvo? Just curious as I haven't heard you talk to much about the W900 as you seemed excited when you first got it and just wondering if it is just as comfy as the Volvo you were driving.
Yes I'm sure mamma is enjoying you home as well for the big days!!

Let's not talk about the KW being the oldest truck in the fleet ('02) with the most miles, (1.5 million). The fact that I have not had a breakdown outside of blowing out 4 drive tires and getting the alternator replaced speaks volumes. The Volvo, even though it is the most comfortable truck I have ever driven, couldn't pass a shop or a wrecker without stopping in. The frustrating thing was getting towed to a shop at the cost of $850 to replace a sensor that cost $39, that could only be diagnosed with a computer, or having the XY shifter replaced 3 times on 2 different Volvo's. If I was ever in the market to buy a truck, it wouldn't be a Volvo. The KW is old school, 13sp tranny, no computers on it, with a dash full of gauges that show things like turbo boost, a pyrometer, filter pressure, and a pleasure to drive. Although it's not the most comfortable truck to drive, it's been the most reliable one I have had in the almost 4 years here at Calex. And having to sleep in the truck only 3 nights per week and in my bed at home 4 nights per week the comfort part is not an issue. Last edited: Feb 16, 2013

Payroll update, it was there, minus a few reimbursements, it was all good.

	JohnBoy,

Was there ever that doubt you were not going to get paid? Or just knew it was a honest mistake
-

Who knows. I know mistakes are made every day, but when it happens to me and a bunch of other drivers then the mistake part makes me wonder. It has been an issue for a few of my friends here enough that they are considering leaving over this. I never doubted the fact that I would be paid what was owed to me, it's just that having to chase after it with my company is not as easy as one phone call. But, like everything else, it all comes out in the wash.

Sure did, even though there was still a mistake. I'm just glad I don't live paycheck to paycheck and am able to chase after someone else's mistakes while trying to get what is owed to me, as I continue completing my rounds every week.Last edited: Feb 17, 2013

Will be leaving at 10am in the morning. It's 675 miles up to Greenville from the house. I need to be there before they close at 11pm in order to get my paperwork. Then it's 675 miles up to Mountaintop to drop that trailer, then go to the yard to pick up a reefer then do it all over again. I've been doing this lettuce since before Christmas. It'll be done in about a month then I get back to being home for a long weekend every week at the house instead of in Pittston. This crap of spending 2.5 days in Pittston is not for me, maybe someone else, but not me. The Challenger Thanks this.

That's a lot of lettuce, do the guys harvest it by hand or is there a machine to do it? I was always amazed during orange season that they were actually hand picked, every time I would see a loaded orange trailer go by all I could think of how long it would take me to pick all the oranges to fill that thing, those poor guys are probably filling them multiple times a day.

If it's harvested in Florida like it is in California then it's done by hand. And it's done by migrant farm workers. You know, non-Americans.
