My husband has been doing cementing for the last year and has just had two job offers from Calfrac and Trican. Can anyone give us some insight on which one to select? Anyone have any experience with either company? We hear that Calfrac is a bit busier than Trican and has the bigger contracts (which leads to more max bonuses throughout the year).

Trican has LOTS of work in US. At least in TX, OK, NM. Don't know where you heard that crud. Building huge new facility in between Odessa and Midland. Others in Weatherford, Springtown, Mathis for starters. They pay like $15. an hour to start. 40 straight. 58 OT. 10 hr break paid like $6 an hour and $30-50 a day per diem. Works out to about $2500 a week. That was for sand drivers and lots of the entry level driver /tech jobs.

Ya I work for trican in tx and they don't have much work at all. The Odessa only has one fleet working, Mathis only has one, springtown has two but is about to lose one. The North Dakota yard has fraced two wells all year long. Pa is pretty busy but their the only ones in the us. I've been here about four months and the first two and a half I was in the yard getting less than forty hours a week.

And the guy was asking about frac not sand hauling. The pay is hourly only for frac and sometimes you get per diem. We don't get all the other stuff that sand haulers do.

Depends where you live. Tricans texas bases are a joke, cost us more money than they make. Paying 15 bucks an hour pfft. Up here in Canada i made $130 000 last year and im just a little peon nobody. Best thing you can do in America is work there and get up high enough to transfer to Canada and make an actual paycheck.

Lot of TX workers made over $100k last yr and got to keep it unlike you with your high tax rates. Same reason you have no decent sports teams. The players make and keep more in states.

Unless you renounce your citizenship, where your the income comes from doesn't matter. We still have to pay taxes on income made abroad.
