Oh its every state? Do you know the reason for it? Why wouldn't everyone just say Interstate?

Intrastate can have less restrictions on it. It may not, depending on the state, require a medical card, it can be had by individuals under 21 years of age, etc.

Steel Dragon, snowwy and Emgee Thank this.

Uh, I'm in California so I'm not sure.. The CA DMV is on the borderline of worthless.. I just need to update my MVR so this company can move forward with the hiring process.

My problem with it, is that no one tells you about it.. I just thought it was a simple question they asked, I didn't know it would put restrictions on Travel.. my current company used to run to Nevada a couple times a week, bet the driver didn't know he wasn't legal there.

I'm not far from you just next door.
I was on the other side of the country about 1800 miles from home when I did mine.

It says right in the application form for the CDL it CDL renewal what those classifications mean. I don't mean to be rude but details matter, and it helps to pay attention to those details.

And that other driver probably was legal there, he probably had the interstate classification that most everyone has.

Steel Dragon and snowwy Thank this.

Just renewed my California CDL Medical Certificate last week. You have two options. Either mail it in at least 3 weeks prior to the old ones expiration or hand carry it. They do not allow email scans or faxing. Naturally I waited to the last minute and then had to stand in line to hand it to them. FYI, the big Federal Medical Certificate Computer base is still down. Was hacked last year and is still not up and running. My Doc has a pile of medical certificates waiting to be scanned in.

    Simple rookie mistake learned.

Mine has always been INTER. Never know when I might need to leave the state.

I don't live in cali either

    Steel Dragon Thanks this.
