After you relocate, never tell anyone you come from CA and NEVER EVER tell the locals how things were done in CA. CA is the anti-christ of states. We aren't different from CA because we are stupid or unaware of CA. We are different because we don't want to become like CA.

Some of you states could take a lesson from California. You're headed down the same path, while breaking about how not like California you are. Those ego won't learn from history....

Sad thing is I don't really consider myself a rookie.. been driving for 13 years.. I guess in the aspect of OTR I am a rookie.. I was just always under the impression that if you get your CDL it's valid wherever you go.. Hopefully others don't make the same mistake.

    Changed last year:
Do not mail your medical report to the California Highway Patrol (CHP). Completed MER and MEC forms may be taken to a DMV field office or mailed directly to DMV for updating. Mail the MER and MEC to the address below at least 4 weeks prior to the expiration of your previous medical or your privilege to drive CMVs may become invalid.

It was implemented a few years ago. I remember the license division discussing it with me when I renewed my license 6 years ago. For the first time under the new regulation.

    What about other factors?

Kinda seems logical to look at the bigger picture.

Yeah that's all great but what about the other taxes, like property and personal asset taxes?

You pay one way or another.

What I think is funny is you make $65k income and you have all kinds of write offs that normal people in business don't have but you're worried about state taxes?

I don't worry about it; just don't like paying state taxes on personal income. No food taxes either in Nevada.
I'm ok with the property taxes which is $1506.00 per year on a $300,000.00 home.
