CARB didn't listen to any of us. If this fails to pass, I will be surprised. I have put in MONTHS of work fighting this and their #### anti-idle laws, and I feel like it was all work done for nothing.

California approves measure to cut diesel pollution

Despite opposition from truckers, state Air Resources Board votes to require retrofitting or replacement of older rigs.

Reporting from Sacramento -- California regulators cracked down on diesel air pollution Friday, adopting the nation's toughest rules on heavy-duty trucks, despite pleas from truckers who said they would be bankrupted in a sinking economy.

I know many of you are going to tell me "I told you that you couldn't win.", but that's okay. I tried. I really tried. Now if everyone will excuse me, I am going to go weep now.....

The biggest cause of air pollution in the L.A. basin are the bleepin' port trucks...excuse my French. It's like anything else if you run a POS rig (tie-wire and duct taped) it's gonna smoke or worse. Just because a O/O runs an older trucker doesn't mean it pollutes more than a newer one. I've seen new trucks abused on the road smoke more than an older rig.

I'll buy a new truck if Arnold wants to subsidize me along with the rest of us who run legal and pay our fees and taxes to support the state. I guarantee that the old trucks that we'll have to trade in will be sold down south and guess what?.....They'll be back up here (CA) and running under Mexican authority free and clear....

Ron, I feel the same way you do. I have never felt quite so angry, and so disappointed, and so disillusioned. I poored heart and soul into this fight. And lost. It's just turned out to be a total loss of paper, ink, envelopes, stamps, time, energy, intelligence, gasoline... I could cry. Just cry. There's not a #### thing left to do. I know you'll understand when I say there is not an ounce of fight left in me. Maybe in the morning I'll be able to face it again, but tonite there is no fight left.....

I'll have to find a way to get a new rig to comply which means I'll have to run harder and longer to pay for that truck.

This ruling is going to hurt the Dump biz. Most of the O/O's in the dump biz run older rigs and they can't afford (especially now) a new rig. With contractors slow and paying 1980's rates for dumps when they have work, CA is all but done for.
CARB and Arnold have shot themselves in the foot...again.....:biggrin_2551:

Sending you (((HUGS))), wishing I could help.. if I could hit the Lotto, you wouldn't have to worry about it, just like Bricky wouldn't have to worry about funds to rebuild...

Guys, I am truly sorry we lost. I did everything I could.
