    Who cares? Nobody is paying for anything. Haven't you got the memo? The Feds don't care about costs. They can just add it to the bill like everything else. It's a tab that will never be paid.

    The military especially active duty is already budgeted. Just the order to move personnel into the port and start operations is needed.

    They're budgeted for being at their home base, not for deployment.

    They will also need equipment - who keeps it after the military "cleans up the mess"? I find it interesting that those who say government shouldn't involve themselves into private commerce are the main ones advocating for using the military to take over the ports.

    Not advocating anything. Just pointing out that the military can do a operation if needed. They are good at moving funds where needed.
