I have to venture into Ca with my spread axel 48 ft flatbed.

From my understanding I’m allowed to go there and stay on certain routes ( mostly main interstates )

Is what I’m reading true ?

With a 48 foot trailer, you should be fine on all staa routes, plus if you are at or under the 65 foot length limit for california state routes then you should have no problems. The state does have a few places that put a KPRA advisory for a shorter length, usually 38 foot or less.
The information you have linked to is good to use. Has all the info you should need, other than very local restrictions or routes.
